Katie Price has Left the Building (well, the Jungle)

November 23rd, 2009

After completing her FIFTH Bushtucker trial, Katie Price has had enough and has left the jungle.

At the end of last night’s show Ant & Dec revealed that the public had decided Katie was going to do yet ANOTHER trial (along with Joe Bugner) , taking her total to an unprecedented six in a row and she declared: “I’ve told them [the show's producer's] I’m not doing it”.  Crikey! Who knew the ballsy woman of steel would finally cave?

Last night saw a previously broken-down Katie return to form and win an impressive 11 stars for the camp in the ‘Car-lamity’ challenge, however ahead of the task she revealed her return to the jungle was not exactly turning out how she’d planned. “I just want to go home, I’m bored. I’m so unenthusiastic today.”

“Do you know I’m actually feeling more deflated today. It’s like, ‘How many more can a girl possibly do?’  They’ve [the public] seen me with bugs, terrified, they’ve seen me cry. So today I said to camp, ‘It will just be like me going to the office.  I’ll get there, I’ll tremble, I’ll cry, I’ll moan, do the challenge come back and then I can chill for the day and me and Jimmy we can just watch and wait for our food.’”

When asked by Ant & Dec as to why she thinks she keeps getting picked, she replied: “Either they love me or they hate me.  No idea.  I’ve always got lovers and haters but my family and friends they probably love it because they get  to see more of me but I’m telling them now I’m not loving it.  I’m gutted I’m not in exile.  I’d love to be in the last three to get voted out.  It’s mad, I’ve done my due course, get me out of here.”

Meanwhile, the beginnings of yet ANOTHER rumble in the jungle involving Kim emerged, this time involving former boxer Joe and a rack of lamb, of all things.  When the food rations arrived Stuart discovered racks of lamb and set about deciding the best way to prepare them for the camp when Joe offered his ideas on how to prepare the meat… and that’s when all hell broke loose! Kim took exception to the way Joe spoke to Stuart and the two began a heated exchange with Kim branding Joe “A naughty man” and warned him not to speak to her or Stuart in the abrupt fashion he had, ever again. Katie tried to separate the two and calm down the situation, explaining it was “just a game” but as we already know, Kim is not one to back down. Much later on Joe made an effort to make peace with Kim by putting an arm round her and placating her with a kiss round the camp fire.

Make sure you tune in tonight to see the moment Katie walked from the jungle and the rest of the drama with that story, unfold. Who will be the next celebrity to undertake the Bushtucker trials and will they be as tough as Pricey?? Tune in to ITV1 from 9pm tonight!  www.itv.com/celebrity.

Molegate!

November 20th, 2009

We’re almost feeling sorry for Katie Price now who unsurprisingly says “She’s had enough” after being voted by you lot to do yet ANOTHER Bushtucker Trial. “I’m absolutely ready to leave camp,” she declared, covered in cockroaches after another disgusting task. “I’ve had enough.”

“I miss my children. I’m hungry. I want a nice bed and I don’t want to have to put myself through these horrible challenges. I don’t like it.” Tonight she faces ‘Hell Holes: Extreme!” which sounds just lovely, so make sure you tune in to ITV1 tonight to see how she fares.

The other big news is of course that the camp have been split in to two with which saw one side becoming very happy campers and the other, well, let’s just say less so. The camp was told that they would be split into two teams and take part in a bush battle for Base Camp.  The winning team would be excluded from the first vote off and live in the relative luxury of Base camp whilst the losers would reside in Exile. Each celebrity had to draw sticks and those with a coloured tip would be captains and chose the members of their team. Colin picked Justin, Katie, Sabrina, Jimmy and Joe.  Lucy picked Gino, Stuart, George, Sam and Kim.

Lucy later said to Stuart, “We’ve got a mixed camp.  We’ve got the biddies. I chose one oldie (George).  However having George and Kim on my team doesn’t fill me with a lot of hope.” Lucy’s fears were founded as her team lost and it was her job to lead them to their new abode - Exile. It was more of a clearing with jungle debris all over the floor, with only one log to sit on and a solitary bed. It contained only the bare essentials and some extra campers - rats. The worst was yet to come though with only had rice and beans to eat, they discovered that whilst the camp was split, all celebrities who undertook Bush Tucker Trials would complete for 12 stars as usual.  However, the meals would automatically go to Base Camp.  Only when all members of Base Camp have been fed, would Exile get any food.

In stark contrast, a jubilant Colin led his team to a luxurious Base Camp. The camp had been transformed, furnished with camp chairs, pillows for the beds, dressing gowns, firewood and purified water.  They would have additional food delivered that night and they even had chocolate and cold beers in the caravan.  Colin and Justin prepared a feast of sausage, mushrooms, rice and potatoes and for the first time this week the weary campers went to bed with full bellies.

Each day, everyone in Exile Camp would be able to participate in a Bush Battle with the winner of each one being allowed to return to Base Camp and automatically winning immunity from the first vote so tonight we’ll see who manages to claw their way back up to (relative) civilization.

Queen of Clean Kim managed to upset another camper, when she suggested Justin should have surgery on his face to remove his moles and things quickly escalated when she overheard him telling the camp about their exchange. Justin explained: “We take the mickey out of each other all the time but she said today bizarrely she thought I should go to the hospital and get my moles cut out and I’ve got a complex about the moles because when I was a kid I used to get called Moley and I was quite sort of taken aback.” Justin’s partner Colin added, “Looking at someone’s face and saying I would change this and do that.  It’s not always going to go down well.”

Colin, Justin and Katie talked about the incident outside Kim and George’s caravan unaware that Kim heard every word prompting one of her verbal attacks on Justin. “You’re an old woman do you know that.  Do you know, you could turn round and say to me I’ve got hair pieces, I’m old and I’d laugh it off.  I turn around and say to you why don’t you get the mole off your face and you’re so hurt.  If you can’t take it don’t dish it out.” Justin retorted, “Oh, it’s my turn Katie” said referring to Kim’s attack on her the previous day.  Later, in the Bush Telegraph Kim saw the error of her ways. “He was born with these white moles.  Nothing wrong with them.  But he loves his appearance.  I said to him why you don’t get those moles off.  I thought ok, I’ve done a boo boo.”

So there you go, all in all a pretty eventful week down in the Australian jungle. Will anyone else get to take part in a Bushtucker Trial this weekend? Who will Kim upset next?  Will Ant be sporting his ‘Team Andre’ T-shirt again? Find out this and more in our daily updates from Monday…

I’m A Celebrity… The First Show!

November 16th, 2009

And they’re off! The eleven I’m A Celebrity… campers have finally made it into the darkest depths of the jungle and are already busy tucking into their tasty rice and beans…

But their journey to camp wasn’t exactly uneventful - some made it by air, some by foot and some by, er, horse! But for two contestants - Gino and Sam - the adventure started a little earlier than they were expecting…

All the contestants were happily enjoying champagne and nibbles on a swanky boat, when Ant and Dec arrived to give them some news: Two volunteers, one male and one female, had to start their jungle journey immediately. They had to jump off the boat into the water and swim to a deserted island, which would be their home for the night. Then, in the morning, they would have to do the first Bushtucker Trial - and the outcome would directly affect their fellow campers’ comfort. Kim immediately said that she couldn’t do it as she’d never swum in her life and was scared of water (better hope camp doesn’t get too flooded!) but the others drew straws with Gino and Sam picking the short ones.

The intrepid two gallantly leapt to their fate, leaving their campmates to head back to dry land, swap their glad rags for khakis and head to the helicopters. Being the two more mature campers Kim and George were dropped off and allowed to find their way to camp on foot, whilst the remaining contestants had to endure rather more physical journeys…

Lucy, Colin and Sabrina were whisked off to an airfield, immediately realising that they were going to be jumping out of a plane. Despite their initial fears (and a LOT of “Oh my God’s” from Lucy!) they made it down safely from 12,000 feet - and loved it!

Meanwhile, Jimmy, Camilla, Stuart and Justin were greeted by some four-legged friends! Yes, they were carried gracefully towards camp on horseback. It all seemed very genteel until they reached a fast-moving, deep river which their steeds had to swim across whilst carrying their terrified passengers. Justin and Stuart made it look easy, but Camilla and Jimmy struggled, both ending up in the water!

However, eventually they all made it safely to their new home - where George and Kim were waiting for them.  Poor George had been trying to light the fire for a good two hours without any success, but as soon as grown-up boy scout Stuart took over, flames were roaring in seconds. The only people missing now were Gino and Sam, who, having spent a relaxing night in their private camp on the deserted island, were headed to the first Bushtucker Trial.

They arrived on a picturesque beach to be greeted by Ant and Dec - and a shipwreck. However, this being I’m A Celebrity…, this was no ordinary wreck - it was filled with jungle creepy-crawlies to get Gino and Sam off to a scary start to their jungle journey. Called ‘All Washed Up’, the trial consisted of three parts, and the stars they were earning were each worth a bed and a meal for them and their fellow campers. So, no pressure then…!

Sam bravely volunteered to go first, putting her hand into a hidden compartment in the wreck and fishing around for a star - which was being protected by a ‘crabby’ sea creature! She dived straight in and managed to wrestle the star from under the large crab, without it making use of its pincers! Next up was Gino, who reached in to find a slimy octopus. However, he delved further in and found his star resulting in two beds and two meals for camp!

Next up was something much worse… Sam opened a washed up pot, to be confronted by… a giant water spider which she had to keep IN HER MOUTH for 30 seconds!! Showing no fear, she tipped it in and held it on her tongue until her time was up. Gino then had to do the same -  his phobia of spiders making it more of a challenge for him. However, in true I’m A Celebrity… style, he faced his fears and with some encouragement from Ant, Dec and Sam, he managed to complete the task winning two more stars for camp!

Next came an apple-bobbing-style challenge, where they both had to grab a star with their teeth out of a box full of shrimps for Sam and worms for Gino.  They sailed through this one, meaning two more celebrities would be sleeping and eating well.

The final task saw Sam sent into the dark wreck, full of hidey-holes and critters. She had to search in the pitch black for two stars, which could have been lurking anywhere. Unfortunately, she didn’t find them in the allotted time, so two campmates would be sleeping on the ground… Next up was Gino, who had to overcome more spider-fear and wear a helmet for a minute and a half, which was gradually filled up with the eight-legged creatures. Despite looking like he was seriously uncomfortable, Gino completed the challenge and won three stars for camp.

The victorious pair were then sent off to join their fellow celebrity campers - who greeted them with cheers when they heard that they’d won them nine beds and nine meals.

So it was all rather harmonious on the first night in camp - everyone seemed to be getting along and everyone had their own jobs which they got on with happily. George and Kim were given the camper van to sleep in and Stuart chivalrously gave up his bed to a girl. They awoke on the first morning happy as Larry and there was singing and laughter round the fire as they ate their breakfast. However, Ant and Dec were soon on their way to deliver some bad news - someone was going to have to do the next Bushtucker Trial… the public had voted and it is clean-obsessive Kim who will face ‘Dreaded Descent’.

Unbeknownst to the happy campers, there was more news at the end of the show. News which might shatter their utopian dreams… a new campmate will be joining them. And not just any campmate. She’s loud, she’s outspoken and she has no problem causing controversy wherever she goes - yes, it’s Katie Price, aka Jordan! Watch out jungle - she’s back…
