Three is the Magic Number

December 4th, 2009

Last night saw three of the remaining four celebrities take part in perhaps the most physically gruelling Bushtucker Trial of the series - the scarily named ‘Hell Hill’. Due to medical reasons Kim couldn’t take part but went along anyway as a one-woman cheer squad. Donning wetsuits, the three fellas then had to take turns to launch themselves in to water, battling pyrotechnics, water jets, wind and a giant swinging boulder, ending with a climb up Hell hill to hook a star on a post. Not only did all three manage to complete the challenge, but they made I’m a Celebrity… history by doing so in record time! Ant congratulated the trio and said: “We’ve done Hell Hill before but not this extreme; you three did it in record time of three minutes.”

Later Kim was set her very own secret mission which was to use the word ‘discombobulate’ in separate conversations with each of the other celebrities without them twigging she was up to something. Her reward, if successful, was a bottle of champagne.

Heading straight for Justin, she said: “You know all these interviews you do in the Bush Telegraph just discombobulate you don’t they?” Justin told her that was a big word and she moved on to Jimmy who was boiling water on the fire.

“All that water carrying does just discombobulate you doesn’t it?” Jimmy just muttered and carried the water holder away.

Finally she found Gino behind some bushes and said: “With your career, books, television, business and everything do you ever discombobulate?” He asked her what the word meant and she said: “Well you know, get confused and busy.” The cheeky minx’s challenge was deemed to be a big success and so the celebrities enjoyed a lovely chilled bottle of champagne!

The celebrity chest proved to be one of the funniest of the series and saw Kim and Justin having to milk goats! They had to collect enough milk to fill an urn, which would reveal the key. They managed, and took the chest back to the camp, only to answer the questions wrongly (once again!) However, the treat was ginger biscuits which all four agreed they weren’t too fussed over.

At the end of the show Ant & Dec entered the camp and revealed who, out of Justin and Jimmy - would be leaving their jungle home. It was Justin who became the seventh person to leave the camp, and he was reunited with partner Colin on the red carpet. Speaking to Ant & Dec, he said being voted out was bittersweet, as although it had been tough, he had “loved every minute”.

So now our final three are Kim, Gino and Jimmy. Would you have predicted that one of these celebrities would have been voted King or Queen of the jungle? Find out who will win the show tomorrow night from 8.30pm on ITV1 and check out www.itv.com/celebrity for more updates!

Cream Tea-Gate!

December 3rd, 2009

Who knew some jam, scones and cream would cause such a royal fuss in the jungle?

It was Justin and Gino’s turn to attempt the Bushtucker Trial ‘Off Your Trolley’ in last night’s show and let’s just say they didn’t come out smelling of roses…

The pressure was really on to win meals for the camp as on the previous night they shared just one meal between six of them, resulting in some seriously starving celebrities.  On reaching the clearing, Gino was beside himself with excitement to see piles of fresh food and offered to conjure up a feast and even invited Ant & Dec along… but the producers had something much more sinister in mind. Justin had to wheel Gino around the ‘supermarket’ in a shopping trolly, and find the stars that were hidden in the rotten foodstuffs - rancid yoghurt and mouldy strawberries, anyone? Poor old Gino ended up covered in cockroaches, rotten fruit, rancid fish, eels, cat food, washing powder and noodles whilst furiously searching for precious stars. Whilst sitting in the trolley loaded with critters and vile food, Gino announced “I’ve got cockroaches in my knickers and something is nipping my willy!” But it was worth it as they won three out of five stars although Gino did return to camp stinking of fish guts.

Kim and Jimmy took part in the Celebrity Chest and won cream teas for the camp. However it wasn’t just the fresh cream that was turning sour in the Australian sun, as when the treat was delivered there were only three scones, so mutiny soon ensued. The five remaining ravenous celebrities downed their microphones and confronted the show’s producers over the lack of scones, incensed there wasn’t enough for each person. At the Bush Telegraph, Gino fumed, “We won a cream tea, this is my ultimatum: I want five scones with jam and cream and I want tea. If I don’t get that I will convince everybody to take the mike off and don’t come here till the end of the day and you know I have the power to do that. I will give you ten minutes to get five scones and five teas down here.” Kim repeated his sentiment, “You are really getting me angry. You don’t go to any restaurant over the whole wide world and they say here’s five for cream tea, share three scones. Don’t be ridiculous, you are being ridiculous well so are we. We want five big scones, plenty of cream and plenty of jam with lots of tea, milk and sugar so we can have a second cup if we want. If we don’t get it we don’t play ball.”

Whilst the producers eventually relented, explaining they didn’t usually cave in to celebrity’s food demands but as they had lost so many Celebrity Chests in this show, they could have a scone each.

The five got the chance to discover just how much weight they had lost during their jungle sojourn. Jimmy had lost the most - 1 stone, 8lbs, the equivalent to almost 11 bags of sugar! Each lost a similar amount and their collective weight lost came in at a whopping 6 stone 12lbs! Gino joked “We’ve lost Katie Price’s boobs!”

Joking aside it was time for someone else to leave, taking the numbers down to four. After 19 days in the jungle, Stuart became the sixth person to be voted out of the jungle. The former Hollyoaks actor said, “It’s a big disappointment because I wanted to make the last three. But now at least I get to see my family and friends.” When quizzed by Ant & Dec about his budding romance with Sabrina he replied “We worked well together. She’s a lovely girl. She’s sexy. We’re the same age bracket.” Wooo! Watch this space people!

Sabrina and Stuart’s Trial!

December 1st, 2009

So, it appears it’s not only us who are sad to see George go… Deciding to go round the camp and tell people individually, George’s news conjured up a lot of tears - and not just from Justin!

Jimmy couldn’t hold back the tears as he told George that he supported him 100%, Kim cried as he left and, of course, Justin shed a few and admitted that he was “gutted”. However, before he left, Gino got his wish as a hamper of pasta ingredients were lowered into camp for George’s farewell dinner, impressing the other campmates as he expertly pushed the dough through the pasta machine and hung the spaghetti up to dry over the fire! Kangaroo mince Bolognese seemed a good way to send George off, who said that he needed to spend time with his girlfriend and his child.

Stuart and Sabrina didn’t provide so well for the next night’s meal after only managing to get three stars in their Bushtucker Trial. Sabrina had to dress as a bumblebee and Stuart, left in the hive, had to direct her around an assault course to get the stars. Every time her antennae hit the copper rail, Stuart would get an electric shock and be joined by some rather unsavoury critters…! Poor Stu got covered in quite a few creatures and copious amounts of slime as Sabrina failed to be able to keep her antennae out of danger and the flirty pair were only able to get three stars in total. However, none of their fellow campers were really interested in the star-count - they wanted to know if there had been any romance on the short sojourne out of camp…! Gino got straight to the point and asked outright, “Did you do any kissing or what?” Sabrina immediately denied any hanky-panky and told Gino he was a trouble-maker!

Meanwhile, Gino and Justin had to face their fears of heights to scale a rather large ladder to reach the key for the Celebrity Chest. Poor Justin, who seems incapable of dealing with any sort of bug, then found himself surrounded by bees which didn’t help matters! However, the pair headed back to camp victorious - only for George to answer the question wrong, so once again, the camp missed out on their treat! However, to make up for it, the celebrities managed to win themselves a chocolate cake, which caused some SERIOUS excitement in camp! They had to answer questions about themselves in the same vein as the Celebrity Chest ones, so the outlook wasn’t good…! However, they pulled it together and were rewarded with the cake - which even silenced Kim ! well, for a few seconds anyway…!

George of the jungle no more!

November 30th, 2009

Nooooooo! George Hamilton has quit the jungle! We suspected it might happen after he let on to Kim at the end of last night’s show that he was thinking about it, but we obviously didn’t cross our fingers hard enough to make him change his mind.

He lasted eighteen nights in camp, and only had five more days to go, but George has decided to walk. If it was because of the reasons he discussed last night, he wanted to leave in order to be with his girlfriend, Barbara, and to take himself out of the race to be the winner, leaving one of the younger celebrities to claim the crown.

Be sure to tune into ITV1 at 8.30pm tonight to see Ant and Dec find out more from the man himself! Don’t forget to check itv.com/celebrity too for all the latest news!

Catch up with last night’s I’m A Celebrity…

November 30th, 2009

We can’t believe that the celebrities only have FIVE days left in the jungle! Nooooooo! However, we’re sure that those five days will be action-packed and full of surprises - if last night’s show was anything to go by, anyway!

First up, there was the Jungle Jail head-to-head Bushtucker Trial. Ex-heavyweight champion Joe Bugner was pitted against former Hollyoaks actor, Stuart Manning, after they received the fewest public votes. Poor Stu was seriously nervous beforehand, worrying that Joe’s fighting spirit and one-on-one experience would make him the champion. However, it turned out that he had nothing to worry about - before Joe had even completed the first part of the trial (unlocking the trap door to get into the critter-filled tunnels), Stuart was out the other side and ringing on the victory bell - KNOCKOUT! As Joe headed off out of the jungle, Stu looked elated to be heading back to camp - and Sabrina… is it just us, or has that relationship hotted up a little over the last couple of days?! All the campmates seemed pleased to have Stu back in the fold - especially George, who said that he sees him like a son - aaaahhhh!

Next up was a celebrity chest challenge, which Justin and Sabrina decided to take on. They headed off into the undergrowth and were confronted by… a roundabout! This may have seemed perfectly harmless, but poor Justin revealed that he’d had a traumatic fall off one as a child (breaking his elbow in the process), and had promised his mum that he’d never go on one again - bless! However, he overcame his initial fears and jumped gamely on. He and Sabrina had to spin the roundabout to lower the giant key towards the ground, then jump off and run and try to grab the key before it spun back up again… Hilarity ensued as the dizzy pair attempted to run in a straight line towards the key, with Justin wiping out almost every time! Sabrina eventually managed to grab it though, and they made their way back to camp, victorious. Unfortunately, they and their fellow campers answered the question wrong AGAIN, so after all their hard work, there was no reward!

However, the celebrities got a second chance to get something sweet to eat in a treasure hunt challenge. They received a scroll with a clue on it which led them to the next one, and they worked their way through until they got to a treasure map and some shovels. They dug up their treasure and found some chocolate coins and a phone. They then had to democratically decide who got to use the phone to make a call to a loved one. Everyone immediately seemed to agree that it should be someone with children, and George was the popular choice as his son isn’t able to watch the show from the US… However, Sabrina , supported by Stu (obviously!), then threw a spanner in the works by saying she’d like to call her mum… so, in the end, straws were drawn and it fell to Justin to decide who got the special treat. He was completely torn but opted for George in the end, only to then dissolve into sobs because he couldn’t give it to both of them! Gino was NOT impressed by Stu and Sabrina’s behaviour and ominously said he now ‘knew where he stood’ with two people in camp and called them ‘selfish’ - uh-oh…

Anyway, George wasn’t able to speak to his son in the end but he was able to speak to his girlfriend, Barbara, who was rather emotional on the other end of the phone. This prompted George to have a think about his priorities and, shockingly, he revealed to Kim towards the end of the show that he might walk out. He said that it was important for someone of his age to spend as much time as possible with loved ones and that, as he wasn’t concerned about winning, it might be best for him to leave. Kim seemed very upset at the thought of losing her jungle husband (even if she is fed up of doing his washing!) and tried to talk him out of it. He agreed to sleep on it but seemed fairly determined…

There was no eviction yesterday so seven campmates still remain. The big question is will George Hamilton walk out of the jungle? If he does, will someone else still be voted off, or will the remaining six live to see another day? What new twists have Ant and Dec got up their sleeves? Will Stu and Sabrina get together? Tune into ITV1 tonight at 8.30pm for some answers! And head over to itv.com/celebrity for all the latest I’m A Celebrity… news.

Sam, Sabrina or Jimmy?

November 27th, 2009

So, jungle life continues without Colin and at least one camper isn’t very happy without him…

Last night we saw the extent of Justin’s anguish at the departure of his partner Colin. Clearly missing Col, and suffering from the meagre rations, he appealed to his partner to eat for him on the outside world! “Please eat for me Colin, I’m starving!” Justin begged, live from the Bush Telegraph. “Eat chocolate, candy, chicken sandwiches and chips, potatoes, bread. Eat everything, and when you do it, eat by proxy so I can get it too!” Joining ITV2 host Caroline Flack, Colin revealed he’d lost a whopping stone in weight during his stay in the jungle and joked he was now body doubling for Victoria Beckham!

Next on to the Bushtucker Trial and you nasty lot voted for poor Kim and Joe to head over to ‘The Jungle Arms’ for a night on the tiles. OK, not quite. On arriving at the ‘pub’ the twosome had to down such tipples as ‘Bum and Coke’, ‘Croctails’ and ‘Sam-puka’ (a shot made from a blended Witchety Grub!). Kim’s gagging sounds amused Ant & Dec no end once more, but Joe downed the disgusting drinks with gusto and actually appeared to be enjoying them! Winning a star each for every drink they both managed to finish in full, the pair outdid themselves and won 9 meals for the camp plus a chocolate treat! And what delights did they have to chow down on? Possum meat! Only in Australia…

There was even more speculation and ribbing, mainly by Gino, of the jungle’s version of Brangelina - ‘Stu-brina’.  As the pair continues to spend more time together, Gino is adamant they have feelings for each other but that they’re holding back because of the cameras. In the Bush Telegraph he exclaimed: “They definitely little bit fancy each other but they’re not releasing their love!”

Kim noticed her trademark blonde locks have been falling out in clumps in  and around the camp, so Dec thought it would be a rather funny gag to fashion a cardie out of the hair he’d ‘found’ in camp! Wonder if he’ll let Kim in on his fashion secret!?

By now the celebrities know that when Ant & Dec enter the camp it means only one thing - someone’s going to leave. But in a cruel twist they announced Samantha, Sabrina and Jimmy are up for eviction - however they’ll only find out who’s leaving tonight, so the three have had to sweat it out over night. Evil!

Tune in to ITV1 at 9pm tonight at to find out which of the celebrities will be heading back to civilisation…

I’m A Celeb… quick update

November 26th, 2009

So, because of the football there was no I’m A Celeb… last night (boooo!), but we know that Kim and Joe must have faced their ‘Jungle Arms’ drinking trial by now - we can’t wait to find out how they got on! If Kim reacted to drinking disgusting things in anything like the way she did to eating them, we’re definitely in for some entertaining noises tonight! And will strong-man Joe be able to keep up his tough-guy reputation by downing the nasties? We’re longing for tonight’s show to find out!

Meanwhile, Sabrina and Gino have apparently been out of camp on an overnight challenge… would Sabrina have rather been with Stuart? Or is that just what Gino will try and tell her?!

And how is poor Justin coping alone in the jungle without partner Colin?

So many questions! Tune in from 8.30pm tonight on ITV1 to find out all the answers and then on to ITV2 at 10pm. Check out www.itv.com/celebrity for all the latest updates!

What a week!

November 24th, 2009

G’day!

Well, what a week. Camilla had to leave the show, the campers in Exile ate a rat, Kim Woodburn did one of the funniest eating trials EVER and we ended up losing 2 celebrities at the same time! Yes, poor Lucy was voted out, Katie walked out and then dumped her boyfriend LIVE on air during our interview….Phew! Let’s talk about the Katie interview first. She actually mentioned to us she didn’t want to be with Alex anymore seconds before we went live and asked if she could mention it. We had all of our questions prepared on cards but we said she could, so she did, and it was probably one of her most honest and revealing interviews. She said she had been “a twit” over the last 7 months and was “making a fresh start” Not sure what Alex made of it all but Katie seems to have made her mind up. We’re disappointed she’s gone, we thought she would have a better time in there once the public stopped voting for the trials and she could relax a bit more and enjoy the experience, but she’s gone before she got the chance. We will never know if the public would have kept her in, voted her out and even if she could have gone on to win it. We will have to forever wonder!

(To watch highlights and our reactions, click the image below)

Kim’s eating trial was hilarious. It is now in our top 5 Bushtucker trials ever! A lot of people have asked if the producers put the retching noises over the clip… We can categorically say those retching, vomit noises were 100% Kim! What a girl!

Poor Lucy was the first to go as a result of the vote, we don’t think that would have been the case had everyone been up for it, but because of the Bush Battles and so many of them winning immunity it was her making the first walk over the red carpet bridge. We actually thought Lucy could have been the dark horse of this series and get quite far…just goes to show how much we know!

Thank you all so much for my birthday messages, we enjoyed the festivities on the 18th November a little too much and had the live Bushtucker Trial the next day which was also a trial for us two with our hangovers! At least we didn’t actually have to take part!

Thanks for all your messages, please keep them coming, we love reading them after the show before we shoot the Bushtucker Trial. It’s great to hear you’re enjoying the show as much as we are.

Right, we’re off for a quick nine holes of golf, a couple of schooners of Fosters, then bed!

Speak soon,
