Use The Force!

April 21st, 2009

Well, Britain’s Got Talent is just getting bigger and bigger…which is great, it really seems to have caught the public’s imagination. On Saturday, just two shows in, it had its second biggest audience in BGT history (over 13 million of you tuned in!) and the whole thing has really taken us by surprise! We knew when we finished the auditions we had a good series but we had no idea people were going to engage with it as much as they have so far.

Thanks so much for watching. It’s a real feel-good show where everyone can sit down and have a good laugh, a good cry and a good hour’s entertainment. And wasn’t there plenty to laugh and cry about this week!? Darth Jackson was obviously our favourite. What you couldn’t quite see on TV was how much he was sweating! It was literally dripping out of the bottom of his mask! At the end of his act, for some unknown reason, he looked really annoyed with us, like we’d messed the whole thing up for him, which we couldn’t understand because he didn’t ask us to do anything for him! He never asked us to change his music halfway through or stop at a particular moment, so when things didn’t go to plan in his head, he wasn’t too pleased and targeted his displeasure at us. Ant did try and nick his light sabre though so that probably rubbed him up the wrong way! And let me tell you the sight of Darth Vader on stage not very pleased, hands on hips, staring menacingly back at you is a pretty harrowing sight!

Shaheen was a great little singer but it nearly all went terribly wrong. We were hoping and expecting him to be brilliant when he first started  singing Valerie, unfortunately it just didn’t quite work for some reason.  Thankfully Simon stopped him during the song which shows that he occasionally gets it right (ok, ok, he gets it right a lot of the time!) It was completely the wrong song but then what followed was knockout! The majority of the singers prepare a couple of songs in case there are any problems on the day and thank goodness Shaheen did, he was dynamite and has predictably been installed as second favourite to win the show after Susan, but as we keep saying, there are plenty more to come….

This week it’s BOOK BOOK BOOK for us- we’ve received the finished first draft of the manuscript and we’re putting the finishing touches to it and, so we’re turning off phones, computers and locking ourselves away to get it done. It’s weird sitting down and reading through the last 20 years, but we think you’re all going to really enjoy it. We hope you do anyway!! It looks like it’s going be out in September so keep checking back for a release date, we’ll let you know here as soon as it’s confirmed.

We also launched our YouTube channel this week too, please feel free to drop in for a cuppa HERE , we’ve just moved in so you’ll have to excuse the mess, everything’s in boxes, and we cant find the tea bags anywhere so it’ll have to be coffee is that alright!?

Oh, and before we go we’d like to say a big “thank you” to some of the new visitors to the site from around the World who’ve been visiting as well as you guys here in the UK. We’ve been reading your comments so keep leaving them; it’s great to know there are so many of you out there enjoying the show from such far flung corners of the globe!

Don’t forget to check out our behind-the-scenes webisodes!

Enjoy Show 3 on Saturday, catch you later  X

Britain’s Got Talent is back…and so are we!

April 17th, 2009

Hi All!

So, we’re sure you’ve heard, the first episode of Britain’s Got Talent went out last Saturday and now the whole country is talking about Fabia and her strategically placed Union Jacks, Stavros Flatley, Flawless and of course the new singing sensation that is Susan Boyle! Watch a video of our thoughts on the singer everyone’s talking about HERE.

Thanks for watching, it was absolutely massive and if you want to see more then check out our weekly behind-the-scenes videos, or  ‘Webisodes’ (we think we may have just made up that word, we really like it!) HERE . Tomorrow we’re off to do voiceovers for this week’s show. We’ve also been busy putting the finishing touches to our book after having had a little bit of a holiday following Saturday Night Takeaway. But now we’re back and raring to get back to work.

We’re really enjoying getting people’s reactions to the audition shows, it was so long ago that we recorded them (before Takeaway!) so we’d almost forgotten how many good acts and performers we saw for this year’s series. You got a taste of it last Saturday and there’s plenty more to come believe us, we said at the very beginning that this was going to be the weirdest and most wonderful series so far and after show one, we think we’re right!

Enjoy the Webisodes (such a brilliant word) and we’ll catch you very soon!

Ant Vs Dec- Who’ll win the next challenge?

February 19th, 2009

Hi everyone,

We’re coming to you live from the production offices of Saturday Night Takeaway where they’re all busy beavering away on this series of Takeaway. We’ve just finished the Britain’s Got Talent audition tour, we’ve been up and down the country over the past few months watching all the auditions but they’re sadly all over now.  We’ve seen some amazing talent again this year and some also not so good! Make sure you watch the show when it returns in April on ITV1.

We’ve been carrying on with this series of Takeaway and it’s been good so far. We’ve been working hard on it; we’re coming to you at the middle of the week right now where we have been promoting our charity records. We’ve been doing TV, newspapers, radio; we’ve got a big performance on this Saturday’s show with the two teams. What’s it like being in the music business again? Hellish! It’s been a really full on week, we’ve had both of our teams in the recording studio and we’ve been out and about promoting the records, trying to get as many people as possible to download them to a) donate loads of money to charity and b) so we can determine a winner for this week’s challenge!

After Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent we’ve got a holiday planned but nothing’s booked yet! That’s it for now, we’ll check in with you soon probably at the end of the series, keep sending in your messages ‘cause we really like reading them, and we’re glad you’re enjoying the series ‘cause we are too!

Happy New Year

January 8th, 2009

Well the Christmas decorations are back in the box, the last of the mince pies have been guzzled and gym membership cards have been dusted down and put to good use so it must be the start of 2009!

Thanks for all of your New Year messages, a Happy New Year to all of you too and what a year 2009 is going to be.  We hit the road next week for Britain’s Got Talent auditions - we can’t wait and the first stop is Manchester, which is always great for a good mixture of the good, the bad and the downright awful!

Spring sees us back on air with Series 9 of Saturday Night Takeaway and we can’t wait, we’re currently busy trying to recruit our teams for Ant v Dec, watch this space!   After we find a winner for Series 3 of Britain’s Got Talent we will be putting the finishing touches to our book which will be out in autumn.

But for now we have to go home and pack our bags for Manchester, we promise to keep you up to date with how things are going; we might even see some of you at the theatres - if so give us a wave!

Lots of love

Merry Christmas

December 17th, 2008

Good tidings we bring from a cold and crisp London Town!

We’re back from Oz and dived straight into our Christmas shopping, not a particularly pleasant experience with jet lag, though the Christmas parties seem to be helping and getting us through. We just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas, thank you all for your messages over the last few weeks since we launched, the response to the site and the blogs has been amazing and we’re chuffed you like it. We’ve got lots planned for next year so keep checking back and keep up the good work with those messages! So, eat, drink and be merry you lot, (we certainly will!), and we’ll see you all in 2009!

Time to Come Home

December 6th, 2008

Well, there you go! After a marathon three week stint Down Under, it’s all over for another year and Joe Swash takes Biggins’ crown to reign as King Joe of the Jungle!

A worthy winner and well deserved I think you’ll all agree, he kept us entertained from the word go and was totally overwhelmed by it all at the end. Congratulations Joe.

We’re taking a few days out here to get our things together and to get some proper sleep before heading back to the UK. It’s been a brilliant series and we’ve had enormous fun but, to be honest, we’re really looking forward to coming home to the cold and the rain and (hopefully) the snow!

Hope you’ve enjoyed the last few weeks as much as we have. See you back home,

The Finale!

December 5th, 2008

Hi everyone,

Well, can you believe it!? The 8th series of I’m A Celeb is nearly over, it’s gone so quickly! We hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as we have, there have definitely been some memorable moments along the way this year, from George’s renditions of Oli, Oli, Oli, to DVD’s evil game plan and you can’t forget Biff Baff Boff! (We’re Celebrities) no matter how hard you try!

But as we prepare to wrap things up here and leave the jungle for another year, we just wanted to let you know that we won’t be disappearing from the website.

We’ve got some great stuff coming up on officialantanddec.com in the next few weeks including another classic episode of Chums, more exclusive pics and video from Down Under and a very special competition coming very soon.

In the meantime, don’t forget you can still win one of five signed calendars if you download the Epac now and correctly answer the competition question.

Thanks for all your comments and emails so far, keep them coming, we’ve been really enjoying reading them!

Lots of Love,

A Day in the Life of…

November 28th, 2008

We thought we would let you all know what a typical day consists of out here for us as quite a few of you have been asking what time we have to get up and go to bed etc. (including both of our families, they still don’t understand the time difference!). So here it is……… Ant and Dec, IACGMOOH A Day in the Life.

02.30am: Alarm!! Time to drag ourselves out of bed. It never gets any easier!

03.15am: Leave for the Jungle. We head for site. It takes 30 minutes to get there so we have an opportunity to grab a bit more kip!

03.45am: Arrive at site. We head to our office to check emails, look at the previous days press cuttings, have a cup of tea and very slowly wake up!

04.00am: Voice Over. We put the voice overs onto all the video package inserts like the pre titles tease and the Bushtucker Trial tease.

04.15am: Script meeting. The two writers, Andy and Mark, have been working on a script throughout the night as the show is being edited together, we give it it’s first read with them, the producers Chris and Richard and the director Chris.

04.45am: Viewing. Our favourite part of the day. A nice cup of tea and we watch the show! We have a look at what’s been happening in camp and take the mickey out of them! We use a lot of our first reactions to the pieces in our links and we come up with things to make each other laugh!

05.30am: Re-Write! Once we’ve watched the video packages we always make changes to the script with Andy and Mark.

05.45am: Make Up and Wardrobe. Time to get dressed for the show and put on our faces! Toni and Claudine make us look human!

06.05am: Studio. We head to the down to our jungle tree house for the show.

6.15am: Rehearsals. We read through our links on the autocue and make more changes as we go, much to the annoyance of writer Andy who has to make the changes.  We’re forever fiddling!

07.00am: Showtime! We’re live to the nation!

08.00am: Finished! Well, we’ve finished the show, we sometimes hang around to annoy Matt and Emma on ITV2 by interrupting their link if we’re feeling particularly mischievous! After we’ve done that it’s back to our office for a bit of brekkie and look at the rules and script for the day’s Bush Tucker Trial.

09.20am: The Trial.  Time to head down to the clearing to look through the trial and make sure we understand how it works.

10.00am: Welcome to the Trial. We record the trial with the chosen celeb. Depending on who it is and what the task is it can be short and sweet or reeeeeaaaaalllllly long!

11.00am: Finish! That’s it. We get changed and head back to the apartments for a bit of a chillax, that’s a cross between chilling out and a relax! If the weather’s good we’ll chill outside or play golf, but if it’s raining a couple of Aussie beers and DVD’s!

6.00pm: Bed. It starts to get dark about this time so time for bed, we know that alarm is going off at 2.30am and we’ll do it all again!

FORE! Golf Down Under

November 27th, 2008

Greetings from Oz! Well today we said goodbye to our first celebrity. You lot at home decided Robert Kilroy-Silk would be the first of the group to leave. Don’t feel too sorry for him though, he’ll be heading straight to the 5 star Versace Hotel with its various swimming pools, luxurious Spa facilities and delicious room service. AND he gets to stay there until the end of the series. God, it sounds great. Can we be voted out…No? … Damn!

Anyway, from now on our celebs decide themselves who does the daily Bushtucker Trial and we’ve just finished doing today’s trial. Brian and George had to do it together, we won’t tell you how it turned out and how many stars they got but it was very funny and featured Ostriches. Nice.

We’ve had a very busy one since last time we blogged. The biggest electrical storm since the 1970`s hit the part of Oz where we stay, hungry mozzies have eaten us both alive, and we were both beaten at golf by Kyle, the floor manager who works with us on the show. He is so sacked!

Thanks for all the messages you’ve posted on the site it’s great to read them when we finish the show.

The Birthday Boy

November 18th, 2008
G’day from Down Under, Ant here,

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday. It really made up for the rain, the early mornings and having to watch that stomach churning trial! There’s not a lot for a birthday boy to do round here but I’m sure with Dec’s help and copious amounts of alcohol I will enjoy myself!

The Birthday Boy

All good down here though, I have even heard a rumour from the bloke in the pub that the sun might actually come out at the weekend. Lets hope so, we need to work on our tans as Kilroy is winning in the suntan stakes at the moment and we cant let that happen.
Anyway thanks for all your messages. Speak soon…oh hang on, I think Declan wants a quick word…

Leaving studio after show 2.

Hello peeps, just wanted to say hi…so “Hi!”…Bye then…only joking, hope you’re all enjoying the show, we are and we’re having good fun in the studio, thanks for all your comments, we really do read them all so keep them coming, they’re keeping us occupied because there’s bugger all else to do in this rain!!

Rehearsing links before the show with Andy our writer and Kyle the floor manager

Anyway, me and Tony Blair are off to celebrate the big man’s birthday and give him his pressies!
See you on the telly! Lots of love, DD x
