Semi- Finals - live Show 1
The first of this year’s live Britain’s Got Talent shows kicked off in spectacular style with a Bollywood dance extravaganza courtesy of ThreeBee. The group took onboard Simon’s comments to diversify the style of music they danced to, so they incorporated some more mainstream pop and disco, as well as Bollywood tracks to accompany their signature style. Do you think they were right to make the musical changes?
Next up was 14-year-old Olivia Archbold who sung a little known song by Kate Winslet called What If but Piers and Simon both preferred her audition song. What did you make of her song choice?
Simon’s least favourite act of the night, perma-tanned and resplendent in glitter and gold lamé was next up, Kevin Cruise. Predictably Simon gave him the buzzer but Amanda and Piers appeared to be thoroughly enthralled by his glamorous performance. Stevie Starr had the nation collectively gasping with his regurgitating antics, not only swallowing a light bulb, but also a padlock, key and then Amanda’s engagement ring! Did Stevie give you the heebie jeebies?
Tobias Mead lived up to the hype and everyone’s high expectations of him were definitely met. Next up was Sean Sheehan whose wood cutting act left everyone pretty cold, and 16-year-old Josh Barry who sang the Ne-Yo song Closer. The track proved to be a bit of a challenge for the teen and Simon suggested that perhaps he needs a bit more time to grow as a performer - do you think Simon is right? The final act of the night were the breath-taking Spelbound who left the judges, audience and everyone at home speechless with their fantastic acrobatic routine. What did you make of them last night?
From all eight acts the judges and the public decided to put Spelbound and Tobias Mead through to the live final. Do you think the right acts went through? Leave us a comment and let us know your thoughts on the first show!
