This time last week none of us had heard of Susan Boyle, a church worker from West Lothian in Scotland, but that has all changed thanks to Britain’s Got Talent.

After just one week of the show Susan has become a world-wide phenomenon despite the fact that Britain’s Got Talent isn’t even shown outside of the UK! In fact, Susan has become such a big star that a video of her startling performance on Saturday’s show has now had over 11 MILLION views on YouTube! Not bad for the woman everyone doubted when she declared she wanted to be a singer up there with the likes of West End veteran Elaine Paige - proving you really can’t judge a book by its cover.

Susan’s star is rising so quickly that not only is she grabbing headlines this side of the pond, but she’s creating a massive buzz in America too. She was featured on America’s NBC Today Show , moving the host to tears and the Washington Post published a long article on her yesterday. Even Hollywood stars Ashton Kutcher and wife Demi Moore have been touched by the ‘Boyle Effect’, posting links on their Twitter pages to the video of Susan singing.

According to her bio, Susan has endurad lots of heartache in her village from the youngster over the years. They did not appreciate her at all over there. Poor Susan.
But rest of the world has heard her voice and she is overnight sensation now ALL OVER the world. I hope those nasty youngster hang their heads down low in her village from shame for been so awful for her over the years.
But Susan, you go girl and enjoy your singing succes. You do deserve every recognition coming your way. Best of everything
you modern day Cinderella who also found her prince Charming.

i dont normally watch BGT but i watched susan boyle on youtube due to an article in the paper now i cant stop watching it.She’s
totally awesome what a voice and imo miles better than elaine page’s version by far good luck susan go win BGT then conquer the world after all it your oyster

Wow, Susan was amazing!!! How she won the crowd over was just as amazing!!! I’m from Phoenix, AZ and I enjoy Ant and Dec’s comments about the performances they are funny!!! Though sometimes I’m not sure what their saying sometimes but it’s all good!!! Tell Susan I’m 47 years old, never been married and I’m employed!!!

on the show, the way they always anounce a new act is a good sense of whether or not they will be good. dec said summat like “Hoping she can change the judges mind” or summat like tht. so i was expecting sum1 amazing. then i saw susan and was like… actually, maybe this isnt gonna be so good afterall. hmmm. then she started singing. wow. with a make over she would do amazingly.
